Does parsing a URL confirm that the website exists?
No. A well-formed address can still lead nowhere. Use the URL checker for a separate network response check.
Can this tell whether a link is trustworthy?
It makes the parts easier to inspect, but it does not verify ownership or scan the destination. A convincing-looking name is not a guarantee of safety.
Why might the parsed address look slightly different?
