Temperature converter

Convert an absolute temperature between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and kelvin.

◉ Stays in your browser

01 / Your temperature

Convert absolute temperatures, from absolute zero up to 1 billion in the selected scale. Temperature differences use different formulas.

What it does

Enter a temperature in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or kelvin and see all three scales together. Use it to compare weather reports, interpret a temperature specification, or check a classroom calculation. Inputs below absolute zero are rejected, and each output includes its unit so the copied result stays clear when shared in notes.

Useful when

  • Read a weather temperature reported in another scale.
  • Check a temperature conversion in a science exercise.
  • Translate a device specification between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

How to use it

  1. Enter the temperature and select its current scale.
  2. Convert to see Celsius, Fahrenheit, and kelvin together.
  3. Copy the labeled values or download a text result.

A few useful details

How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?

Multiply the Celsius temperature by 1.8 and add 32. For example, 20 °C is 68 °F. The reverse conversion subtracts 32 and divides by 1.8.

Why are some negative temperatures rejected?

This tool accepts absolute temperatures at or above 0 K, equivalent to −273.15 °C or −459.67 °F. It rejects lower values and supports inputs up to 1 billion in the chosen scale.

Can I use it for a temperature difference?

It converts an absolute reading, not an interval. A change of 10 °C equals a change of 18 °F and 10 K; adding the absolute-temperature offset to a difference would give the wrong answer.
