What it does
Turn a recorded distance and elapsed time into a consistent pace summary. Enter kilometers or miles and a duration to see minutes per kilometer, minutes per mile, kilometers per hour, and miles per hour. The calculation uses your entered elapsed time, including any stops, and provides a labeled text result for your own activity notes.
Useful when
- Convert a recorded 5 km finish time into average pace.
- Compare a mile-based pace with a kilometer-based pace.
- Add a consistent distance-and-time summary to an activity log.
How to use it
- Enter the distance and choose kilometers or miles.
- Enter elapsed time as minutes:seconds or hours:minutes:seconds.
- Calculate pace and speed, then copy or download the summary.
A few useful details
How should I enter the elapsed time?
Use M:SS or H:MM:SS with whole seconds. For example, 25:00 is 25 minutes and 1:25:00 is one hour and 25 minutes. Seconds must be 00–59, as must the middle minutes field when hours are supplied.
Is this moving pace or elapsed pace?
It uses whichever duration you enter. Enter total elapsed time to include stops, or your recorded moving time to exclude them. The tool does not detect pauses, elevation, terrain, or GPS error.
Why can the displayed pace and speed differ slightly?
Paces of at least one second are rounded to the nearest second, while speed is calculated from the unrounded values. Distance must be 0.001–100,000 kilometers or miles, and duration must be greater than zero and no more than 365 days.
