What it does
Count the calendar days between two dates without daylight-saving surprises. Choose elapsed days or include both the start and end date, then see the total and its equivalent in whole weeks plus remaining days. Strict date validation catches impossible days, and leap days are included automatically. No time of day or location is needed.
Useful when
- Count the length of an event that includes its opening and closing dates.
- Measure the gap between two project milestones.
- Check a date range that crosses February in a leap year.
How to use it
- Choose a start date and an end date on or after it.
- Select elapsed days or a count that includes both dates.
- Calculate the days and weeks, then copy or download the date range and result.
A few useful details
What is the difference between elapsed and inclusive days?
Elapsed days counts the gap: the same date gives zero and consecutive dates give one. Inclusive counting includes both endpoints, so the same date gives one and consecutive dates give two.
Do time zones or daylight saving affect the result?
No. Inputs are calendar dates interpreted at UTC midnight. The tool counts date boundaries rather than the hours experienced in a local time zone.
Does it count business days or calendar months?
It counts all calendar days, including weekends, holidays, and leap days. It reports whole weeks and remaining days, not business days or month intervals. Dates from year 0001 through 9999 are supported.
