What it does
Check how a domain is configured before connecting a site, troubleshooting email, or reviewing a DNS change. This lookup asks one public resolver for a snapshot of the requested records. It does not test every resolver or confirm that a website is working.

A few useful details
Does this show whether DNS has updated everywhere?
No. This is one resolver’s view. Cached answers can differ between networks until their cache lifetimes expire.
Why might a lookup return no records?
The domain may have no records of the selected type, or the lookup may have failed. Check the returned status before treating an empty answer as a configuration problem.
Does the domain leave my browser?
Yes. The domain and selected record type are sent to the lookup service and a public DNS resolver. Use this tool for public names.
