What it does
Resize a still image and choose JPEG, PNG, or WebP for its next use. The tool keeps the original proportions and reports the actual result size so you can decide whether it is an improvement. Processing happens on your device; it does not upload your photo.

A few useful details
Will the result always be smaller?
No. Output size depends on the source, dimensions, format, quality, and browser. Check the actual before-and-after sizes; a larger result is clearly reported.
What happens to transparency and animation?
PNG and WebP can preserve transparency. JPEG uses a white background. Animated images, GIF, and SVG are not supported, so animation is not silently discarded.
What are the image limits?
Inputs are limited to 10 MiB and 20 million decoded pixels, with no side longer than 16,384 pixels. Outputs are limited to 4,096 pixels per side and are never enlarged.
